kinnoull gardens2

After a 14 month refurbishment the Retreat and Pastoral Centre at Saint Mary's, Kinnoull, Perth is due to reopen in late August.

Kinnoull has served as a centre for retreats for clergy since 1870 and became a fully functioning Pastoral Centre in 1979.

Extensive work has been carried out, which includes a

complete renewal of the heating system,

49 rooms of which 34 en suite rooms are available.

These are newly furnished and available for retreats, conferences, meetings and times of recollection.

In addition the monastery is equipped with Wi-Fi throughout, and a good standard of catering is maintained.

There is step free access throughout the building with a lift

from the basement to the third floor.

You are invited to join the community who gather for

Morning and Evening Prayer and midday Mass

or simply to have a quiet time on your own.

In this year of Divine Mercy we are asked by Pope Francis  to rid our minds of false notions of God’s mercy and open our hearts to the healing grace of his compassion and love. As  his beloved children, God wants us to have good self-esteem.

Pope Francis, in his recent Exhortation writes:

“Often our mistakes, or criticism we have received from loved ones, can lead to a loss of self-esteem.” (The Joy of Love, 107). As we become aware of this we can begin again  to develop healthy self-esteem.

Our week will be inspired by these words of the psalm: “It was you who created my inmost being, knit me together in my mother’s womb. For all  these mysteries I thank you, for the wonder of my   being I praise you”. (Psalm 139). This word of God is the key that opens to the door to healthy self-acceptance and true self-esteem.

Participants arrive on Monday for the evening meal at 7.00pm and depart after breakfast on Friday morning. For further information contact:
