St Gerard Majella CSsR Triduum from Rome 2026...

In preparation for the feast of St. Gerard Majella, C.Ss.R., celebrated on 16 October, Online Triduum will be preached by Fr. Ivel Mendanha, C.Ss.R., General Consultor, reflecting on the life and witness of St. Gerard in the light of the theme of leadership at the service of mission.

St. Gerard is one of the most beloved and well-known Redemptorist Saints. Although he never served as a superior of a religious community or as the head of an organisation, his life as a Redemptorist missionary in the eighteenth century reveals many of the qualities of authentic Christian leadership. His witness demonstrates that leadership is not limited to positions of authority but is expressed through service, care, encouragement, reconciliation, humility and selflessness.

During these three days of the Triduum, Fr. Ivel Mendanha, CSsR., the General Consultor, will reflect on each day of the triduum on the following themes:

Day 1: St Gerard as a leader who guided and cared for

Day 2: St Gerard as a leader who encouraged and reconciled

Day 3: St Gerard as a humble and selfless leader

Feast Day: St Gerard: A Leader after the heart of Jesus the Eternal Shepherd

We invite you to make this triduum and to learn more about the life and witness of St. Gerard in the light of the theme of leadership at the service of mission and to share this link and invite your family and friends to pray with us Redemptorists as we glorify the Lord for the life of St. Gerard as we celebrate tricentenary of his birth and the Year of Leadership at the service of mission in the Congregation.
