On the 6th July 1958, Fr Kevin Callaghan C.Ss.R was ordained to the priesthood. Today the 7th July 2018 he marked his Diamond Jubilee of Priesthood with a Mass which was attended by many of his friends, relatives, confreres and parishioners from far and near.

On the 17th September 2017 Fr Tony Hunt and Fr Michael Henesy celebrated the Golden Jubilee of their ordination. Fr Andrew Burns C.Ss.R gave the homily which follows.

Today we give thanks to God for two men
who have given their live to God
in the Redemptorist Congregation.
On the 16th October 1967
Fr Oliver Keyes CSsR and Fr Denis McBride CSsR
professed their vows and became members of the Redemptorist Family.
We ask the Lord's continual blessing on these two men and their ministry.

In his diamond jubilee year - still going strong!
Claire Daly writes about the about the experience of the day...
"Here at the Abbey we had a wonderful mass to celebrate
the Diamond Jubilee of priesthood of Fr Francis Dickinson.
Fr Maurice O'Mahoney preached a lovely sermon on the birth of Our Blessed Lady and Fr Dickinson spoke at the end of mass with his usual wit and humour to a full church and a rapturous applause.
After a an enjoyable meal the community met together in the evening to watch a Betty Davis film which transfixed those present.
Fr Dickinson truly enjoyed his day."

Many Jubilees have been celebrated up and down the province these last few weeks!
On the 8th of September
Fr Jim Casey CSsR,
Fr Tony Johnstone CSsR,
and
Fr Jim McManus CSsR
celebrated their Diamond Jubille of Priesthood.
A truly wonderful day was had by all who celebrated that day.
We give thanks to God for their years of devoted service and ministry!
Then on the 17th September another two Golden Jubilees were celebrated for two of our Fathers in Bishop Eton Monastery, Liverpool.

have now reached the 50th mark in their holy priesthood.
We once again give thanks to these two men and the wonderful ministry that they have carried out.

Saturday the 9th January 2016 marked the Golden Jubilee of Ordination to the Priesthood of Fr. Barrie O'Toole.
As Fr. Jim Casey toiled in the kitchen to prepare a celebratory lunch. Fr. Barrie was joined by the majority of his confreres and Archbishop Emeritus Patrick Kelly to celebrate midday Mass.
Fr. Barrie was temporarily overcome with emotion during a beautiful Mass in which Fr. Tim Buckley acted as cantor and Fr. Andrew Burns gave the homily (which can be found below). As was befitting of the celebration two of St. Alphonsus' hymns (translated by Fr. Edmund Vaughan) O Bread of heaven and O Mother Blest were sung.

both celebrated their Golden Jubilee of Profession!
The day when they made their first vows as Redemptorists

and have lived every day since as Redemptorists
16th Oct 2015.
We salute them!
Hopefully we'll hear more about their vocation story and their 50 years celebrations!

Fr Andrew was the main celebrant at the parish/community mass.

The Redemptorists the world over, (ie. in 79 countries) are preparing themselves for this great feast that will be celebrated world wide next year in 2016.
We will celebrate 150 years since Pope Pius IX entrusted the Redemptorists with this beautiful and spiritually powerful icon, with this simple order; make her known!
