Annual Regional retreat and a lecture on synodality in Zimbabwe...

From 2nd to 6th August 2022, the Region of Zimbabwe had its annual retreat. All the confreres and the professed students of theology in the Region attended the retreat.

We pray today for our former confrere Rev Padraig Gallagher who continued to work tirelessly for the poor and abandoned. He built a drop in centre and food bank when there were not many around.

European Meeting of Redemptorist Youth started in Toruń...

12th European Meeting of Redemptorist Youth under the motto “Go and share” started on July 27 in Toruń, Poland. The welcome ceremony at the Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in the presence of about 300 meeting participants, representing almost all European countries where the Redemptorists are ministering. Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine prevented the young people from that country from arriving in Torun.

During the opening of the meeting, young people learned the official anthem of the event. They also watched a video message sent by Fr. Michale Brehl, CSsR., Superior General, who addressed the meeting participants.

Rev'd Deacon Brother Kudakwashe Kariviro CSsR

who was ordained a deacon today (30th July 2022) by the

Archbishop of Harare, His Grace Robert Christopher Ndlovu.

He was ordained together with three Jesuits who became priests today

Frs Emanuel Banda SJ, Tanaka Cyril Mashiche SJ and Ashton Mugozhi SJ.

Congratulations Makorokoto Amphlope!

Perpetual CSsR Profession in Mabvuku, Zimbabwe...

There was great rejoicing in our community in Harare as they gathered with

Br Kudakwashe Kariviro CSsR

as he made his Perpetual (Final) Profession of Religious Vows as a Redemptorist; the Vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience. He also made for the first time his Vow and Oath of Perseverence. 

The celebration took place in our Parish Church in Mabvuku, Harare. 

Br Benjamin Posvo CSsR, the Regional Superior received Br Kuda's vows, while the main Celebrant was Fr Gift Mubayiwa CSSR, the Vicar Regional Superior, and he was joined by the third member of the Ordinary Regional Council, Fr Kenneth Macharaga CSsR. The preacher for the ceremony was Fr Mark Chandavengerwa CSsR, the Dean of Holy Trinity, our Theological institute.
