Activity in the Kinnoull Monastery
Activity in the Kinnoull Monastery...
During December our confreres in Kinnoull are busy with welcoming various groups of people who wish to experience the silence and atmosphere of the Monastery.
At the moment the 5th and 6th years of St. Aloyious School Glasgow are in residence following the 'Kairos' programme, which helps them to encounter Christ and each other.
The Scottish Episcopal Church have also been in residence. TISEC is the Theological Institute of the Episcopal Church. They are regulars at the Redemptorist Spirituality Centre.

Over the weekend of Gaudete Sunday, St. Mary's also welcomed the local Romanian/Russian Orthodox Community who asked if they could celebrate their liturgy in the beautiful monastery church. Bishop Ignatius the Romanian assistant Bishop of Paris, Fr. Marchel of the Romanian Rite, based in Glasgow and Fr. Christopher Wallace the local priest of the Exarchate of Russian Tradition led a beautiful Liturgy that concluded with some Romanian Christmas Carols.

They were touched by the warm welcome at Kinnoull and were deeply impressed by the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

These few days of study and reflection are being led by the
Rev'd Dr Gerard Fieldhouse-Byrne
who is the Executive Director of the
St. Luke's Centre in Manchester.
The confreres celebrating their jubilees of Profession and Ordination will be feted during these coming days - so more input and photographs to follow!
2014 - A new Mission!
2014 - A New Mission...
A sobering New Year's reflection from 1761 by St. Alphonsus Liguori, reminding us that we have a mission while in this world!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We are now at the end of 1761. Today the New Year of 1762 had begun. How many saw the beginning of the year that has just gone but did not live to see its end! We should give thanks to God that we are allowed to see its conclusion. But do we know whether we shall see the end of this year? Certainly, many will not see it. Who knows if we shall not among this number? A year must dawn for us that will be our last.
