This is a great very detailed modern project: a digital map of the C.Ss.R. Houses in the world!

Of course, it is something more than a simple map with some information. It is an interactive map: it is on internet, it is on Google Maps, in others words it is a map of the world in real time.

If you click on a point marked with a colored circle, you will see the details of the Redemptorist House that there is in that area of the world.

Praying With Icons

An icon is not simply a picture of a holy person or event but an image through which we enter communion with God. Icons have the same function as Scripture: they not only instruct us in faith but also reveal God to us and draw us closer to God.

When we choose to pray with an icon, we are really choosing a companion. The icon will ac company us on our journey to God. It may encourage us or challenge us.

• Settle comfortably in front of the icon; perhaps light a candle.

• Place yourself in the presence of God, asking the Holy Spirit to pray with you and in you.

Fix your gaze on the icon and allow it to gaze at you.

• Allow the icon to speak to you in silence.

• Respond to the icon. Share with God what is deepest in your heart.

European CSsR Formators meet in Dublin...

These are some of the Redemptorist Formators of Europe, who gathered in Marianella, Dublin to discuss and share. From the many countries represented we were from:

Scotland, England, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy (Naples and Rome), Vienna and Munich, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Slovakia (Greek and Latin Rites) Poland, Canada and the General Government.

The General Secretariat for Formation CSsR produced this book in English, Spanish and Italian.

It is called,

"Witnesses and Missionaries of Redemption"

Our own Fr Provincial has a chapter in this book!

Sr Johanna OSsR made her first Profession of Vows in the monastery of St Alphonsus in Dublin.

A Redemptoristine OSsR First Vows...

This day next week, 15th August, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Redemptoristine nuns in Dublin will celebrate the First Profession of one of their sisters in formation. It will be a great day of joy for everyone in that monastery, and for the Redemptorists too, but it will be a day of special happiness for Sr Johanna who will be making her first vows as an OSsR.

Sr Johanna has many strong Irish connections, even though she is a London lady!
