Canon Bill Anderson RIP...

A few men in our Provincehad the privilege of knowing this wonderful man.

There are obituaries, of course, of this wonderful priest, tracing his distinguished career from a degree in classics at Cambridge, to philosophy and theology at the Gregorian University in Rome, being ordained for the archdiocese of Edinburgh, teaching at Blairs College, going on to work at the BBC Religious Affairs department, moving to the Scots College in Rome as spiritual director, returning to teach at Blairs, then chaplain to Aberdeen University, administrator of Aberdeen Cathedral where he was made a canon, then parish priest, hospital and school chaplain, and finally retirement.

None of this elegant procession of appointments captures who Bill was as a human being. Obituaries tend to trace nominations and achievements, as if a life can be reckoned by a litany of labelling: you are left to guess, too often on reading, what the person was really like, what made them hum, what hurt them or what haunted them, how they influenced others.

Vocations in Wales - in Welsh - CSsR...

On the RedemptoristsGB page of Twitter a Vocations Ad was found in Welsh advertising for the Redemptorists! We wonder how it got there?!

Today the Redemptorist community at our Clapham Monastery (London) picked out patrons, virtues, and prayer intentions for the year; one of our traditional customs.

Sr Maureen's Service in Kinnoull CSsR...

THE END OF AN ERA! – SR. MAUREEN IS RETIRING FROM KINNOULL

Sr. Maureen Barry whom many visitors to Kinnoull know is retiring from her ministry here in Kinnoull after 12 years of dedicated service in our Redemptorist Retreat House and Pastoral Centre.

The many guests and retreatants who have stayed in Kinnoull have benefitted from Sr. Maureen’s attentive hospitality and listening ear and we are very grateful to her for her generous service over the years.

We also thank the Sisters of Mercy in Ireland for allowing Maureen to exercise this ministry amongst us for so many years and we wish her well in her retirement.

Fr Raymond Mupandasekwa CSsR,

the currect Regional Superior of the Redemptorists in Zimbabwe,

as the new Bishop of Chinoyi, Zimbabwe.

Please keep Bishop-Elect Raymond in your prayers.

The Redemptorists in the Province and in the Region are obviously delighted about this appointment, however we realise this will mean a huge loss to us and personally for Bishop Elect Raymond. Our prayers go with you dear brother!
