The Saint of Peace...

3th October 1731.
Second view of Blessed Sister Mary Celeste Crostarosa regarding the Congregation.
On October 3, 1731, Sister Maria Celeste was favored by a new vision, which she recorded details in her autobiography: ′′ It happened in the evening when she entered the refectory. I was meditating on the greatness of the Patriarch Saint of Assisi, whose feast we were supposed to celebrate, when suddenly kidnapped in spirit, I saw Our Lord appear and on his right Saint Francis, one and the other surrounded by a nimbo of light.
On the left, there was a priest that the Savior used to add to me: it was Don Alfonso de Liguori.
Jesus said to me then: ′′ Here is who I have chosen to be the head of my institute, destined to be the general of a new Congregation of men who will work to my glory ".
At the same time this Congregation appeared to me as already founded and in full activity, so I felt so much joy that I couldn't take any food today ".
This is how you express Sister Maria Celeste.
The next day, he received further clarification on the Rule, on the pity exercises that had to be carried out, on the dress, poverty and duties of these apostles raised by God to go in search of abandoned souls.
At Alfonso's Beatification process, the lawyer of the lawsuit affirmed, without hesitation, the reality of this revelation.
Ten of the first members of the institute, witnesses at the trial, spoke of this view as an unquestionable fact.

Blessed Kasper Stanggassinger CSsR...Sept 26th

We, the Redemptorist family all over the world, celebrate yet another saintly man Blessed Kaspar Stanggassinger on the 26th of September. He was born on 12th January 1871, in Berchtesgaden, in southern Germany. He was the second of 16 children. His father was a farmer and owned a stone quarry.
From his childhood days, he had a growing desire to become a priest. As a child, Kaspar played at being a priest and “preached” short sermons to his brothers and sisters and used to lead them in procession to a chapel among the mountains near his home. In 1890 he entered the diocesan seminary of Munich and Freising but his studies and discernment moved him to choose the vocation as a Religious.
As a religious, he spent most of his time teaching the students and was available to the boys. On Sundays, he never failed to offer his help at the churches in the neighboring villages, especially by preaching. Even with such a schedule of work he was always patient and understanding with the needs of others, particularly the students who saw in him more a friend than a superior.

Fr Mike's First Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated on the 24th of August 2021 on the feast day of Redemptorist Martyr Blessed Methodius Dominic Trcka, in St. Mary's Church, Woolton, Liverpool.

My dear brothers & sisters in Christ…
A confrere recently commented on my journey to priesthood and said : “You took your time.”
My response now : “Better late than never.”
Indeed, I came to the Priesthood kicking, screaming and dragging my feet.
This was not the life that I had ever predicted or anticipated for myself, - so when I had my first calling to become a Priest from the Virgin Mary at the age of ten, it scared the living daylights out of me and I went on the run.
“I fled Him, down the nights and down the days;
I fled Him, down the arches of the years;
I fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways
Of my own mind; and in the mist of tears
I hid from Him; and under running laughter.
